Pigeon is designed as a local-first intelligent email assistant. We believe your private communications should remain strictly private. Pigeon runs directly on your computer or local environment and does not transmit or store your personal email contents on external central servers.

2. Google User Data & API Scopes

When you authorize Pigeon using Google OAuth, our application requests access to specific Google user data via the Gmail API, including:

Gmail Messages & Threads (Metadata & Content): Accessed strictly to read, categorize, star, and organize incoming email according to your local automated labeling rules.
Gmail Labels: Accessed to learn your existing classification habits and apply appropriate labels.
Basic Profile Information: Used locally to identify the active user account.

Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance:
Pigeon's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How We Use and Handle Your Data

We adhere to strict standards regarding Google user data:

No External Storage: Your emails, credentials, and classification rules are stored and processed locally on your device.
No Selling of Data: We do not sell, rent, lease, or monetize your Google user data or email content to any third party or data broker.
No Advertising: Google user data is never used to serve personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertisements.
No Human Access: No human reads or inspects your email contents unless you explicitly choose to share specific logs for support purposes.

4. Third-Party AI Services

If enabled, Pigeon may use Google Gemini APIs to synthesize classification rules based on patterns in your labels. Only the necessary anonymized context or sample data required to generate rules is transmitted, under Google Cloud's secure API terms.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Because Pigeon operates locally, deleting the application or clearing its local storage directory immediately and permanently deletes all locally stored data, cache, and authentication tokens from your computer.

You can revoke Pigeon's access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account Permissions.
